Music Subject Page
We aim for our pupils to have a love for Music and be inspired by and engage in the high quality music education we deliver.
Pupils are taught to listen and think critically about music of different genres and cultures both past and present, soundtracks from film, musical theatre and sound in the world around them.
Being taught to create, compose have the opportunity to play a musical instrument will develop a strong sense of belonging in them growing as becoming musicians.
Pupils are given regular opportunities to perform both in class, on stage and out of school developing their self-confidence and self-belief. As part of this we also recognise the role that the audience plays and pupils are taught to show respect for one another and the importance of honesty in reviewing and providing feedback in order to support, improve and challenge themselves and others musically.
We are very proud to receive the ‘Music Mark’ once again this year, in recognition of a commitment to providing high quality music and education for all children and young people and will continue to do so.
