Safeguarding
A Message from the Designated Safeguarding Lead
At All Saints, we are very proud of our school ethos and values. We place safeguarding and keeping children safe at the centre of everything we do and all our practice is guided by 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. This is why we have invested in having a safeguarding team led by myself, Amy Darby, the schools designated safeguarding lead, to work together to protect children and support families. This means that even if I am not available in school, there are other team members of the Information Sharing Team that staff, children, parents and professionals can refer to.
As a Designated Senior Person for safeguarding, I am responsible for all safeguarding and child protection matters including: staff referrals where there are safeguarding concerns about a child, staff safeguarding training, coordinating Early Help and support we can offer families, working with multi-agencies including children’s services, attending safeguarding meetings and the safe recruitment of new staff in conjunction with the Head Teacher.
As well as dealing with matters involving child protection and working closely with Sandwell Children’s Trust, our Information Sharing Team also signpost and offer a range of services to children and families to help support them and improve children’s lives. We have strong links with services such as: Black Country Women’s Aid, Sandwell Housing, Young Carers, health visitors, local children's centres and Banardos amongst many more. Where a family requires more coordinated support from a range of services, the school can also make referrals to the Early Help Team to help set up a team around the family to coordinate help and prevent matters from escalating for families. Our Family First Advisor, Marie Poxon, also supports families in helping improve attendance to ensure children are fully accessing education. Marie can be found on the school gates in the mornings. You can also make an appointment with Marie if you require some advice and support.
If you have any safeguarding concerns or would like more information, please contact me via the school office. Our safeguarding policy can be found on our school website or a copy can be requested at the school office.
Thank you for your continued support.
